Henley Building Solutions design, manufacture and erect, light gauge structural steel building components. The Henley Building Solution offers cost competitive, off-site pre-engineered precision buildings using trusted materials to develop unique and innovative panel and floor cassette systems.

Our manufacturing facility and head office is based in Market Harborough; we have additional sales and design offices in Parley, Bournemouth and Irvine, Scotland.

We are looking for a CAD Designer / Draftsman and Site Management Staff

We have positions available in:

  • Market Harborough (Site Management)
  • Parley, Bournemouth (Design)

CAD Designer / Draftsman

Due to continued expansion, we are currently recruiting additional design staff to assist in a variety of functions.

These roles include

  • To provide Sales Drawings optimising our standard Henley solutions
  • Provide technical support to the Sales and Bid Team
  • Apply and submit documentation for Planning Applications as necessary
  • Work closely with the Design Director and project managers, offering support as necessary
  • Provide fabrication drawings for the factory
  • Provide ‘as built’ drawings as directed

Experience, Qualifications & Training:

  • AutoCAD (2D and 3D) preferred
  • IT literacy essential
  • Previous experience in the construction industry
  • Knowledge of construction techniques
  • Experience in using Building Information Modelling (BIM) would be advantageous, along with any experience in Steel detailing.

Full training in the use of Henley’s bespoke 3D design software (Vertex) will be provided, along with any applicable further training.

Site Management

Due to continued expansion, we are currently recruiting additional site management staff to assist in a variety of functions.

These roles include

  • Effectively Manage the installation of buildings, achieving agreed programme milestones and handover date.
  • Ensuring Variations to contract are agreed and managed effectively
  • Ensure projects are concluded to the accepted financial out-turn.
  • Responsibility for enforcing Health & Safety legislation on site.
  • Ensure that you and your teams activities promote HenleyBS as a World Class provider of building solutions

Experience, Qualifications & Training:

  • Demonstrate commercial awareness
  • Likely degree in Civil/Building background, or Site Agent from Construction industry
  • IT literacy.
  • Knowledge and proven experience of current H & S site legislation

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Ensure site visits are carried out as per company and client’s requirements, assess ground conditions, cranage, service layouts, access transport etc.
  • Ensure a smooth handover of buildings to client on program and strive to achieve Zero defects at handover.
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Carry out method statements/risk assessments etc, to comply with Health & Safety requirements
  • Co-ordinate and manage sub-contractors, issue authorised site instructions to satisfactory conclusion of each contract.
  • Assist inter-company Functional Support Teams as required
  • Attend to customer complaints timeously and repair any defective/remedial works to the customer’s satisfaction
  • Carry out internal snagging prior to client’s snagging of building, obtain Practical Completion Certificate
  • Prepare / Assist in producing Project programmes as required
  • Undertake Daily H & S audits of the site
  • Maintain a daily ‘Site Diary’ recording events
  • Maintain the site file system
  • Site Documentation Procedures
